Koel Mallick is an Indian film actress who appears in Bengali films. Her born name is Rukmini Mallick. She is a very much sensational actress to the young generation and holds the audience for her terrific acting quality. At present, Koel is one of the successful actresses in the Tollywood film industry.
Koel Mallick was born on 28 April 1982 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India to Ranjit Mallick and Deepa Mallick. Her father Ranjit Mallick is a famous film actor in Kolkata film industry. She did her schooling from Modern High School for Girls, and completed a BSc (honors) in psychology from the Gokhale Memorial Girls' College, an affiliated college of the University of Calcutta. She was born in a showbiz-oriented family thereby; it was easy for her to build up a career in the film industry.
Koel Mallick made her debut in the Tollywood film industry with the movie Nater Guru with co-actor Jeet in 2003. The film was a ‘runaway success’ at the box office.
Koel won her very first award for Best Actor in Leading Role Female from 4th Tele Cine Awards 2004 for Nater Guru. Since then, Koel and Jeet pair acted in various films successfully. In 2004, she starred in Debipaksha, Shudhu Tumi, Badsha The King and Bandhan.
Bandhan was a huge success and a blockbuster film at the box office. It was also the highest grossing Bengali film of 2004. Then she acted many most popular films such as Mon Mane Na, Paglu, 100% Love, Rangbaaz and Besh Korechi Prem Korechi.
She has endorsed a variety of multi-national brands and has done television commercials for TVS Motor Company, Fair & Lovely, Panasonic, Vaseline etc.
Koel Mallick married Nispal Singh (Rane) on 1 February 2013. They had been in a relationship for seven years before that, but both of them had decided to keep their relationship away from the glamour world of Tollywood.
