Biography
Arifa Parvin Moushumi is a Bangladeshi film actress and director. She is better known by her stage name Moushumi. She came into the spotlight after winning a beauty contest.She has acted in over 150 films and made her directorial debut with Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti (2003). She is the recipient of several awards, including two National Film Awards and three Meril Prothom Alo Awards.
Moushumi was born on 3 November 1973 in Khulna, Bangladesh to Shamim Akter Jahan and Nazmuz Zaman Moni. She is the eldest of three daughters in her family.

Moushumi was very much interested about median from her early life, started her career as singer and actress at an early stage of life. She won the Anonda Bichittra Photo Beauty Contest, which led to appearances in television commercials in 1990.
Moushumi made her debut in the Dhallywood film industry with the blockbuster film Keyamat Thake Keyamat, opposite super hero Salman Shah in 1993. She acted in her directed movie Kokhono Megh Kokhono Brishti with co-actor Ferdous Ahmed in 2003. Already, she acted more than 150 Bengali films and some of her blockbuster films are Den Mohor, Ontare Ontare, Ammajan, Bir Soinik, Molla Barir Bou, Machineman, Saajghor, Tui Jodi Aamar Hoiti Re, Golapi Ekhon Bilatey, Kusum Kusum Prem, Devdas, Ek Cup Cha etc. Moushumi runs a production house, Kopotakhsma Cholochitra. She is the associated with Projapoti Cholochitra and she looks after her own foundation, the ‘Moushumi Welfare Foundation’. She was named a UNICEF goodwill ambassador in September 2013.
Moushumi married to co-actor Omar Sunny and they have two children’s Sadin and Faiza. A few days ago she was busy with her family and children but now she has come back into the film industry.
