Biography

Ananta Jalil is a Bangladeshi actor, director, producer, businessman and philanthropist. His born name is M.A. Jalil Ananta. He has created a new dimension in the film industry of Bangladesh.

He is the chairman of Monsoon Films Limited and AJI Group. He was awarded CIP (Commercially Important Person) status multiple times including 2014 for his contributions in RMG sector of Bangladesh. He has left doing movies and became Islamic Scholar.

Ananta Jalil was born on 17 April 1978 in Munshiganj, Bangladesh and raised in Sukrabad, Dhaka, Bangladesh. His mother died when he was five years old, then his elder brother and father looked up him from childhood. He completed his O level and A level from Oxford International School in Dhaka. He received BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) from University of Manchester, UK.

Ananta Jalil started his profession as a Production general manager in 1999. Later he set up his small garment factory which further grown up to AJI Group year by year. At this stage of his life as a successful businessman, Ananta decided to emerge in film industry.

He launched his production house Monsoon Films in 2008. He made his debut as an actor and producer with the 2010 film Khoj: The Search. The film headlined the debut of Ananta, Barsha, Bobby and late Raha. In 2012, he appeared in two films, The Speed and Most Welcome. Both the films were major commercial success and gave him breakthrough in Bangladeshi cinema.

He showed his terrific performance in the film Nishwartha Bhalobasa in 2012. He is the brand ambassador of a telecommunications service provider company, Grameenphone. Ananta is widely known for his philanthropist activities in the country.

Ananta Jalil is married to model-turned-actress Afiea Nusrat Barsha. They got married on 23 September 2011. Barsha is the managing director of Monsoon Films.
