Biography Of Bollywood Actor
Akshay Kumar is an Indian actor, producer, martial artist and television personality. His born name is Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia. He has appeared in over a hundred Hindi films.
He has won several awards including the National Film Award for Best Actor and two Filmfare Awards. He has established himself as a leading contemporary actor of Bollywood. In 2009, he has received Padma Shri Award from the Government of India.
Akshay Kumar was born on 9 September 1967 in Amritsar, Punjab, India to Hari Om Bhatia, who was military officer and Aruna Bhatia.
He has a sister named Alka Bhatia. He was brought up in Chandni Chowk, Delhi and then moved to Mumbai. He has done his schooling from Don Bosco School, Mumbai and graduation from Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Mumbai.
When he was young he acquired black belt in Taekwondo and further went to study Muay Thai martial art in Bangkok, Thailand.
Akshay Kumar made his film debut as the lead actor in 1991 with the movie Saugandh, opposite Raakhee and Shantipriya.
The following year he acted in suspense thriller Khiladi, directed by Abbas Mustan. In 1999, he acted in International Khiladi, opposite Twinkle Khanna.
He was also seen in Negative Role in some films. He has done many popular and commercial successful films like Mohra, Dil To Pagal Hai, Khakee, Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, Housefull 2 and many more.
Akshay Kumar married to actress Twinkle Khanna on 17 January 2001. The couple has a son named Aarav Kumar and a daughter named Nitara Kumar.
